Governance

Effective collaboration, operational transparency and experienced industry leadership – we hold ourselves to impeccable standards.

Founded in 1890, the Quirk Creek Ranch has seen many changes.

Today, the Quick Creek Gas Plant is a welcomed community member and fixture in Turner Valley and the surrounding area.

Our History

John Quirk, an Irish settler, established the Quirk Cattle Ranch in the 1880’s. He and his wife came from Montana by covered wagon, driving a herd of 650 head of cattle. Many years later, Natural Gas Reserves were discovered in the Quirk Creek Area in 1967, and by 1971, the Quirk Creek Gas Plant was in full operation

Current Operations

Today the Quirk Creek Gas Plant is owned and operated by Caledonian Midstream Corporation. Over the years, further reservoir development and infrastructure additions have expanded operations, and in 2020 capacity was again increased with the inclusion of McLean Creek and Moose Mountain reservoirs.

Future Innovations

A phased approach to green sustainability, our GreenBluH2 project division is unique in the dedication of proprietary reserves and production to manufacturing Blue Hydrogen and green eco-products at a “brownfield” location with available land, water, and infrastructure, and where CO2 can be safely captured and sequestered.

Interest & Operations in the Foothills Corridor

Caledonian’s core properties, and targeted stranded assets, are located in a Foothills corridor, within Treaty Seven Traditional Lands, extending from the TransCanada Highway to the U.S. border. Indigenous support and cooperation with all levels of government are key elements of our strategy to repurpose conventional assets for energy transition and to ultimately remediate those properties.
